A Boy's Thank You!

Happy Wednesday! I thought I'd share a card I made as a thank you from my "just turned," six year old, to give to his grandparents to thank them for his birthday gifts. I made a few of these cards to keep on hand in case we need more. I think I need to carve out some time to sit down and crank out a few more birthday cards for kids. I am completely out of my "boy" stock!

This card uses the soon-to-be retired Look Who's Talking stamp set and the words are from another soon-to-be retired stamp set called Trendy Trees. I really like the font type of these words. I will miss using them in classes.

It's not too late to buy from the retired list. Email me with your order today or go straight to my website to ensure you get just what you want.

A Boy's Birthday....

My boys have been invited to so many birthday parties within the last few months. It seems that every weekend since April I have found myself celebrating a birthday for another friend of theirs. Just before all of the party invites started coming in, I got the genius idea to create a nice stack of birthday cards for little boys and then a stack for little girls. I am sooo glad I thought of this. It has made a great difference in getting us in party mode and the kids really like having their birthday number on their card. As of this past Saturday, I have used ALL of the cards for little boys and only one of the ones for little girls. I can't believe that I've gone through my boy stack. If you missed that post, check HERE for the details. My next project.....more boy cards and some graduation cards too! We have lots of them coming up too!

My little guy recently turned six! I keep telling him to stop growing but he won't listen. He and our eight year old are the energy in our house. It is such a lively place when these two are awake. They love everything that bounces, can be kicked, dunked, or has wheels. In honor of these traits I stamped a card using one of the Extreme stamp sets. It's a favorite of mine for boy cards. I sponged the newsprint paper with Soft Suede ink. My little guy got a kick out of the card. I think part of making it a special day for them is seeing what kind of card their mom came up with. This one got a thumbs up from the birthday boy and that's all that matters.

Bling for Mother's Day!

Yesterday was so busy, I didn't get a chance to post the Mother's Day card I made for all of the mothers in my life. I hope everyone had a special day! Mine was full of lots of quality time with my family. My hubby made a yummy breakfast, then we headed out to my eight year old son's last soccer game of the season and then back home for some delicious barbeque. My family worked hard to make this a memorable day. Lots of home made goodies from the kids and a very special gift from my hubby. I feel so blessed!

Todays' card is a lot like a card a few posts ago. Scroll down and you'll see that it uses all the same materials just a different layout. I made the other card for a shoebox share. I had enough pre-cut materials left for 6 cards so I decided to use those supplies to create my Mother's Days card. It was my own personal challenge. I even added some bling...because everyone deserves some bling for Mother's Day, wouldn't you agree?
