MDS...Postcard Style

front of postcard

back of postcard

OK,  so it has taken me longer than I planned to get my MDS page/postcard posted. (he-he) Life and family comes first. I decided to follow the theme for my favorite blog hop. It's the MDS blog hop. I enjoy checking out what these ladies come up with each week and it inspires me to come up with something too! Not only am I inspired but it gets me to play with my MDS more often. Would you like to start a blog hop with me? We could create MDS pages or cards with the same theme. Sounds fun right? Leave me a comment or email me your ideas and/or interests.

This weeks' MDS theme was to create a postcard...so I played along. I've never made a postcard using MDS before so this totally took me outside of my comfort zone. I love when that happens because it means I am growing in my creativity right? Hope so! Anyway I plan to use these post cards to stick in with orders from my customers. They can also be mailed if needed for online orders.

Hope you like it. I can't wait to get these printed so I can start using them.

More Convention Swaps and Survivor Ramblings

Busy days here. I'm getting ready for my card class tomorrow. Very excited! Thought I'd share interesting news and then more Convention swaps.

On an uncrafty note....
I just found out that my friend's husband, Russ, (in the middle) is returning to the next season of (my favorite show) Survivor. He was on before but collapsed and had to leave. He didn't finish the game the way he wanted, something that he dreamed about like forever and then to have it end the way it did....well, just left things unfinished. I am so happy for him that he will be able to get closure on this. Of course, I don't know how it all ends. I know he is home so I guess things didn't get too bad. They sign legal documents and stuff and can't talk about it so my friend can only smile at me when she I talk about it. I can't wait to watch!

I think I may want to do this one day. Great way to lose weight right...I'm in! Oh, but the bugs and other little creatures...let me think about it a bit more....OK maybe the Amazing Race instead. Any takers on being my partner????

Ok onto the crafty part of today's post.....more swaps from Stampin' Up!'s convention

Here is my updated MDS page from Friday. I made quite a few changes to the original scrapbook page (scroll down to see the original). I added extra elements that I didn't think of before and I finished the second page of the spread. I am quite happy with the end results. Do you notice the differences? Is it too much now? His birthday was in May....scrapped in August...not too bad for a busy momma.

An MDS Friday!

It's an MDS Friday! My little guy turned six in May. Yes, 6 in May. It seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. All 9 pounds, 6 ounces of him! He was my biggest baby ever! Such a fun bundle to hold onto...and still is LOL. As a baby he didn't know where he ended and I began...I think he still doesn't! I just love every ounce of this little guy!

I plan to make the coordinating page later today. I wanted to get this one done and posted before the day got busy. You know... these kids like to eat... he-he.

For this page I used the First Edition paper, Back to School Kit,  and images from the Piece of Cake stamp set. I taught myself how to crop a stamp set....okay yes, Holly Linford showed us at convention but I didn't have my computer, didn't take notes on it...so I played around with it and took out the words (the and of). They were part of the birthday stamp. It should read, "the birthday of," but I just wanted the word birthday. I love that I am able to customize my page just the way I want it. I promise to share the coordinating page once I complete it.

Have you played with MDS2 yet? If not you should get started. Try the 3o day FREE trial...yes, 30 days of FREE play with MDS 2. Start your FREE trial HERE

Have a wonderful Friday!

An MDS Kind of a Sunday

So, I really wanted to post this on Friday but today will have to do! One of the things I look forward to on Fridays is the MDS Blog Hop. Have you heard of it? Well, I have! No, I am not a part of this awesome blog hop but I LOVE, love, love it and  because of it I am inspired to get an MDS page up on my blog each week. I'm a little late this week but don't hold that against me.

I made a 2 page spread. I created one page and then duplicated it with the mirror image. I changed out my pictures, heading, journaling, and added a sun to brighten it up a bit. We had an awesome time visiting some of my most favorite people. Sam and I work together and each year she invites my kids and me to join her and her kids for a couple of fun days at the beach. We look forward to this each year. She's an awesome friend, teacher, quilter, and stamper too! She's so much more than that but I'll stop here LOL!

For this page I used the On The Go kit (129360) papers and images. This is such a fun kit! See images below:

On The Go Kit 129360
This kit is included in the MDS 2+. To get yours click HERE You will love what you can create with it. Do you use a different digital scrapbooking program? No problem...all of the MDS downloads will work on other programs. They cost as little as .99 and go up from there. Jusy go to my online store and add this to your shopping cart. Once you complete your order your download will be available immediately.

So remember come back each Friday, and more often too, and see what I come up with using MDS.
Enjoy your Sunday!

I Am Inspired...

Isn't this cute? One of the fun things about Convention is the extra classes we cold sign up to attend. I attended one called "I Am Inspired..." It was led by Donna Griffith. In this class we made a pin board with a variety of embellishments. Both pictures are of the same pin board. I just switched up the embellishments for a different look.

This little slip of paper is numbered from 1-31 for the 31 days in July. This class included a slip for each month along with about 9 packs of different colored fabric, and even included a stamp! This was a fun project. I haven't put it to use yet but I am excited to personalize it a bit more and put it in my stamping space.

Join my team and join me next year at convention, July 18-20, 2013. You won't want to miss it.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2012 Highlights

I am sure by now you've guessed that I had an amazing time at Stampin' Up!'s annual Convention a couple of weeks back. Out of my eight years as a demonstrator, I have attended seven conventions. I missed one with the birth of my last child. He was just three months old and a bit of a crier so I decided to sit that one out. There are many reasons why demonstrators can't wait for convention each year. The list is too long so share but I thought I'd share with you this video just to show you a snapshot of why.
