A Christmas Post Part 2

More Christmas fun using MDS2. I decided to add on to the scrap page I posted yesterday. I created this second page by creating a mirrored image of the first page. It was super easy to create. I then searched through my Christmas stamps and embellishments and put the finishing touches on. I love the colors of these papers. I used four different sheets to create this layout. Our oldest kiddo was too busy to pose for pictures with the younger kiddos on Christmas Eve.

I hope you are enjoying this special time with family and friends. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love decorating our house for the season. Here are some pics from this year.

A Christmas Post

Life has been pretty busy in my house but I wanted to take a moment and share a quick MDS2 page that I made of my kids on Christmas Eve. One of our traditions is to wear matching pajamas each year. The kids look forward to seeing what the design will be each year. I love how festive we all look and feel...as well as how easy, convenient, and cohesive matching pj's make the task of scrapbooking for me. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I'll try to post again before the new year.

A Butterfly Thank You

I am often needing thank you cards. Not a bad thing to need right? I am thankful for so much and try hard to let people know when I feel thankful whether is is for something physical or behavioral. I made these cards using scraps I had available from my October and November Paper Parties. I love when I can use scraps from other projects/cards and put them to good use. It makes me feel less wasteful. For these cards I used the Island Indigo In Color Card stock, along with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper. I'm not sure if you can see but I put two pearls in the center of the butterfly on each card.

Just three days until Christmas... and I still have some shopping to do. I am definitely going to finish it all today. Lots of great sales going on today. I always say next year I will be more organized and well, it is what it is. But, if I were more organized I'd miss out on the great prices...right? I do think I get a little better each year. One year I will perfect this.

I hope your Saturday is a fun and productive one. Wish me luck on mine.

Wish Big!

The countdown to Christmas is officially on. Ten more days until the big day. I usually don't start a countdown in my head until we reach the 15th of December. Why? You might ask....because today is my middle son's birthday. He turns 9 today....at 10:58 pm to be exact!  He has been counting down since mid November. He was the first one up this morning...standing by my side of the bed...6:00 am filled with excitement! We were watching him open presents at 8:00 am. Yes!!! 8:00 am! Here is the card I made for his big day. I used the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. It's a fun set full of lots of gorgeous double sided printed papers. It's very versatile. I used it for a birthday card but it would also work very nicely for a carnival scrapbook page. Super cute!

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful day...and stamp something if you can (LOL)

Happy Holidays - Our Christmas Card for 2012

Well, here it is....our holiday card. Each year I try to coordinate the kids and play photographer. They usually oblige me and smile for our 20 minute sessions. Each year it gets a bit easier to assemble them. This year was by far the easiest. Our littlest one is the one I have to work harder with in order to get something that resembles a smile. I think we did okay.

Usually I hand craft our holiday cards. This year I decided to use My Digital Studio to create with. I am so happy that I did! This photo card is my favorite absolute favorite! It is called, Postmarked for Christmas and it was super duper easy to make. I love how it turned out. Now, I just hope they get here in time. ha-ha! These cards just might not get to their destination until just after Christmas but one can hope.

Lovely as a Tree

Lovely as a Tree is a stamp set that I have admired from afar for quite some time. I love all of the images but held off on purchasing this stamp set...until now! I am so happy that I am now the proud owner of this stamp set. I had so much fun water coloring this tree. I pulled out my trusty blender pens. I am not a huge fan of water coloring but this was fun... and I like how it looks all colored in. I decided to place a rhinestone at the top of the tree. If I were to have a do over (ha-ha) I would have punched out a star to place at the top but time was not on my side when I made this card. Another add on, would be glitter. A bit of sparkle always goes well on a card.

Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: Lovely as a Tree
Ink: Gumball Green and Chocolate Chip
Card Stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, and Snow Festival Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and Rhinestones

Two Takes on a Tag

Tags are always lots of fun to create. Here are two takes on a tag. I used all of the same products but gave them two slightly different looks. The first one on the left I made a bit wider and adhered the patterned paper at the top while the one on the right is a bit more narrow and the patterned paper is in the middle of the tag. I wrapped the patterned paper all around the tag on the right, while the tag on the left just has the patterned paper on the front. Which do you like best? These tags were inspired by tags I spotted on page 9 in the annual Stampin' Up! catalog. There is so much to see and copy in the annual catalog that everyone can be crafty!

Tag Recipe:
Stamp Set: Christmas Wishes (Holiday catalog hostess set, p. 39)
Ink: Gumball Green or Raspberry Ripple
Card Stock: Primrose Petals and Snow Festival Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Mitten Builder Punch, Gumball Green 1/4" Sweater Trim, and Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine

A Catalog Quickie: Beautiful Season

I saw this card on page 21 in Stampin' Up!'s annual Idea Book and Catalog and thought..."I can do that!" I cased this card for some of my October/November Paper Parties. The tag was lots of fun to create. It was very simple and the ladies really enjoyed using the blender pens to color in the image. Water coloring can be very therapeutic. I witnessed this as the ladies seemed very relaxed with a flowing conversation as they colored and created this card. This is such a festive card that screams "Christmas!"

Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: Beautiful Season p. 20, 122682
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Whisper White, and Polka Dot Parade dsp (page 164)
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine (page 172)

Have you started your Christmas cards? I have lots of ideas but have yet to begin my own. I am hoping to get them done within the next week. I plan to use My Digital Studio this year. I already had a photo session with my kids and now I just need to sit down with my computer and create. I am excited about what my end product will be. Of course I will share it here with you!

A Circular Christmas

Is this cute or what? I cased this from Stamp with Sandy. I thought it was the cutest thing. It was one of the favorites at Barb's Paper Party. For this card I used Early Espress, Whisper White, and Raspberry Ripple card stock. I cut 1" circles in the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper. I cut a triangle in the Silver Glimmer paper. The Whisper White card stock was embossed using the fancy fan embossing folder. This card was lots of fun to make and super easy. My two favorite words for stamping...fun and easy.

Happy December

Happy December! How did we get here so fast? I still have so much to do to be ready by the big day. I am sure it will get done. I feel this way every year and every year it all works out. This is the December page for our family calendar. It was created with My Digital Studio. The pic was taken Christmas of 2011. I love the pic of the kids at the top of the page. This was taken on Christmas Eve, just after the kids had opened one gift each. They were so excited and couldn't wait to get to bed to wake up on Christmas morn. I hope you and your family are busy making memories for this holiday season.
