A Little Sale-A-Bration 2014 Fun!

Happy Monday. I had such a creative and crafty weekend. On Saturday, I had my After Christmas scrapbook class. I'll share the pages later this week. Yesterday, I had a meeting with my downline. Usually there is a small group of us but yesterday was more intimate than ever. There were just two of us but we talked and stamped and had a ball anyway. We made a couple of cards and used one of the See Ya Later Sale-A-Bration stamp set for this card. This card was so easy and fun to make it also uses the Starburst Framelits Dies: Page 34 $26.95 (132967). I cased it from Amy Koenders original card. You can see it HERE. I thought it was genius of her to create a card using different hues of the same color. I fell in love with it right away and decided to copy it. The only element I changed, was adding Crisp Canteloupe twine.
I decided to stick with the same layout and made this card for a colleague. He and his wife just had a baby boy so I thought this would be a fitting card. Hope they like it. Hope your Monday is going well! SaleA-Bration starts on January 28th..Just two days away. For every $50.00 you spend you get to select one of the awesome Sale-A-Bration items. There are so many fun items to choose from you will have a hard time trying to narrow your choice.

Boy's Gorgeous Grunge Birthday Card!

How's the weather in your neck of the woods? It's a snowy day here for us on the East Coast. Can you say "Snow Day!" Schools are closed today so lucky me...my kids get a day off of school and I get a day off work. My kids school called to give the wonderful news, then I crossed my fingers and waited for the school district where I work to call. I only had to wait 30 more minutes until my school district started its automated calls. All I can say is "Yippee!!!"  Another day is just what I needed. Sooooo happy. Can you see my grin from here?

Okay, okay, now to that cute card sitting up there.  I make lots of birthday cards but never seem to have a boys birthday card on hand.  I have a surplus of cards but am always in need of a card for a boy. I made this little Circle Thinlit (133480 ) card for my son's 10th birthday. I decided to pull out the Gorgeous Grunge (130514) stamp set and the Midnight Muse and Gumball Green card stock to give it a masculine look and feel.
You can see that I randomly stamped the images from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. This is a set we got at Convention 2013. I really LOVE this set. It isn't one I would chose on my own but it is one that once you see what it can do you just gotta have it. On the inside of the card I used the "yay" from the Thinlits set and adhered it to the opposite side of the 10 so when it is opened the yay appears.
My son was thrilled when he opened the card. He was very excited to see what mommy came up with. I am so happy they appreciate the extra time I put in to make special cards for their special day.

An Easy Birthday Basics Thinlit Circle Card

Today I'm back to work after being home for 12 days. 12 Wonderful days with my family. It was sooo hard to get back into the frame of mind of getting up early and out of the house by 7 am. The kids had a hard time pulling it together too! We all just wanted a couple more days of being together at home. The good news is, we only have today and tomorrow to get through to get to the weekend. Yay!

Today's card is another fun Circle Thinlit (133480) card. This is my first ever Circle Thinlit card. I know I've shared others but this is the first one I made. It pre-dates the others. You might call it my practice card. Don't look too closely,  you just might find my imperfections.  (ha-ha!)  Have you tried the Circle or Frame Thinlit cards yet? They are so much fun and they really make a great impression.
Here is the inside of the card. You can see all three flaps. I adhered white card stock to the inner flap so I could include a message. The outside of the circle has a cake...
...while the inside has a birthday sentiment. This card also uses the Birthday Basics Designer Series Papers (130145) found in the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and catalog. They are perfect for all of your birthday projects.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy New Year with a Circle Thinlit Card

Happy New Year! Happy 2014.

Hope your are spending a wonderful New years Day with your family and/or friends. Do you have any New Years Day traditions? Growing up we always made sure to eat Collard Greens and Black Eyed Peas on New Years Day for good luck and good fortune in the New Year. It is a tradition I am maintaining, everyone can use a bit of good luck and good fortune.

After ringing in the New Year quietly with my family I thought I'd share this Happy Birthday Circle Thinlint card that I made for our oldest to celebrate his 20th birthday. On the outside it says, "Yay!" and...

...on the inside there is a cute Summer Starfruit and Silver Glimmer cupcake. These Circle Thinlit cards always amaze the receiver. They can't stop playing with it. Stay tuned for another tomorrow. Good luck and good fortune to all this New Year!

A Joyful Christmas Card to End the Year!

I can't believe it's the last day of 2013!!! I have so many things to be thankful for this year. One of them is the wonderful friends that I have in my life. One such friend is Helene. Isn't this card gorgeous? I was so excited to get this in the mail. It instantly brought a smile to my face. This beauty was sent to me from my friend Helene. Check out her blog HERE. I fell in love with it instantly! The dry embossed gold foil card stock really stole the show on this card and it works so well with the gold embossing on the poinsettia from the Joyful Christmas stamp set (131802). Adorable!!!! This is one of the few stamp set I did not get and wish that I had.
Here is another view of Helene's card so you can see the pretty pearls she added on the card. I love adding pearls and rhinestones to my cards too! I think they add that nice little extra touch that just completes any card.

Since it's the last day of the year, I thought I'd share a few more of my holiday cards with you, so enjoy!!
Have you made any folder cards? They are all the rage. Here is my take on it. I saw this technique first from my second level upline and friend, Gail Murray. There are many videos out there to show you how to make with step by step instructions. All you need is an envelope punch (133774) and you are more than half-way there.
I love having a space to write a special note. I gave a few of these cards out to friends at work. I really love using washi tape. It goes on so easily and makes an impression. This card uses the Embellished Events (131984) stamp set and Sassy Salutations (132070) stamp set.
This card I cased from a fellow stamper. It's one that I used for my Holiday card class. It was a hit! Everyone loved the gold border. It makes the rest of the card pop. Don't look too close or you'll notice my oops. This was the only one I had left to take a pic of. I gave the rest of them away. This card uses the Lovely As a Tree (128655) stamp set, which is a demonstrator favorite.
My last two holiday cards of the 2013 season to share feature the Festive Flurry (131778) stamp set and coordinating Framelit Dies (132193). I have had sooo much fun using this stamp set and die from cards to tags and even on scrapbook pages. Can't wait to share those with you in the New Year! Come and check back with me in 2014. Wow...2014!!!! Enjoy your last day in 2013!
