You Are Loved

Well, I have had the most busiest of weekends and the start of a busy week, but I wanted to pop in to share a card from a get together last week.  Isn't this the cutest card? It was made by my side-line and fellow demonstrator Jean Bard. She is an awesome stamper! We recently got together with our upline and other fellow stampers and made a few cards. This one is Jean's creative design. It uses the new textured paper, and embossing folder and sandpaper. Three things to add to my next order. I love the look of this card. It was lots of fun to make. I think this card will be making an appearance at my next Paper Party.

Stamp set: You Are Loved
Ink: Real Red
Card Stock: Real Red, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, More Amore Specialty Designer Series paper, and Real Red Core'dinations Card Stock
Accessories: Artisan Embellishment Kit and Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Make a Cake in Purple

Today is my sister's birthday! Happy Birthday Deneen. I made this card last December but never shared it. I love the white on white look!  I  layered the whites over a Wisteria Wonder card base. I used a sponge dauber to ink up the cake. Next, I added some shimmer with the Dazzling Details. The shimmer doesn't come across well in this picture but it is really cute in person.

Well, I am off to get ready for the 9 year old's birthday sleepover. He has invited 9 boys!!!!! Pray for me (LOL) I have lots of fun activities to keep them busy and a movie to end the night. I wonder how long they will last. In two weeks, we are doing this again with a birthday sleepover for my daughter and her friends. I know, call me crazy.

Make a Cake!

Happy Friday! I absolutely LOVE Fridays!!!! They bring me closer to Saturdays, my sleep in day!

Today's card is from Alicia's recent Paper Party. It looks remarkably like a card I shared last August (LOL). Take a peek! I changed it up a bit. In August I used an embossing folder on the card base and didn't add any additional layers. On this card, I didn't use the embossing folder, instead layering the white onto Baja Blue card stock. Along with the added layer I used Dazzling Diamonds glitter to add a bit of glitz to the cake. The ladies at Alicia's party really liked this card and it was easy to replicate.

Card Recipe:
Stamp sets: Make a Cake and Made for You
Card Stock: Baja Blue, Whisper White, and Soft Suede
Ink: Primrose Petals and Black Stazon
Accessories: Baja Blue Seam Binding Ribbon

Birthday Pop-Up Card

Today I want to share a birthday card with you, but first ....Did you know Sale-A-Bration has started? For every $50.00 you spend on Stampin' Up! products, before shipping and taxes, you get to pick a free stamp set, paper, or many other goodies from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Place your order today and get your free goody.

The hostess from my most recent Paper Party requested a pop-up card. I had never made one before but thought I'd stretch myself a bit. I found lots of directions to different, cute, pop-up cards on YouTube and decided to go for it. I was pretty surprised at how easy it was to recreate. I really like the end result. The hostess and her guest liked them too!
This is the inside of the card. There are three gifts situated on top of each other with a cute little bow on the top gift. I used the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper, Marina Mist cad stock, and Whisper White card stock. The stamp sets include, Wacky Wishes and Petite Pairs.

A Tickets and Tags Thank You!

I just love this paper! It's retired but worth sharing. I don't know about you, but I am often in need of thank you cards for family, friends, customers, and acquaintances. I try to keep some on hand. I searched through my stash and decided to use the cardstock from the Tickets and Tags Simply Scrappin' Kit for this batch. In the kit there are some self adhesive stick-ons in flowers and other  shapes. I used the flowers on the some of the cards and then punched some butterflies from some of the other adhesive shapes.
For a finishing touch, I stuck on some of the Pearl Basic Jewels. Super easy!

A Day of Service

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Day of Service, my kids and I sat down and stamped some simple Patriotic cards for the soldiers. These cards were super easy and even fun for the kids to make. We used the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad. It is a carry over from the Holiday Catalog. I love the silvery white look it produces. The Thinking of You is faint on this card but darker on the rest. This was the sample. I used the ink pad for this one but prefer the marker for this Shimmer paper.

For our cards we used:
Stamp sets: Every Little Bit (for the star) and Best Dad Ever (for the sentiment) stamp sets.
Card stock: Real Red, Midnight Muse, and Shimmer (retired)
Ink: Midnight Muse Stampin' Write marker and Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin' Pad
We used the marker on stamp technique. It was easier for the kids and made them less likely to have an edge around their stamped image.
No one complained the entire time...well except when the six year old got upset that he was going to be the last one to finish. So much competition in our house!

My six year old did most of it independently and my nine year old even said we should do this more often. I agree!
The 11 year old? She's a pro. She could do this with her eyes closed but what would be the fun in that?
Our finished cards! The kids were very proud of their accomplishment.

When everything was inked, stamped, adhered, and written we had 9 Patriotic cards with personal handwritten messages of thanks.
