MDS Fun! Birthday Page

John's MDS Birthday page
I've been trying to locate Christmas photos from 2009, and still no luck, but I dug up these photos instead. They are from my now 9 year old's, six birthday party. He celebrated at Chucky Cheese and I never scrapbooked his cute pics...until now. So today, I am sharing my handsome boy!

John's MDS Birthday page

This second page is the layout mirrored. It is an easy way to create a cohesive 2 page spread. I usually copy the layout using the mirrored option. Next, I delete all wording, (because it will be backwards...not fun), and photos. I add new photos, new wording and some embellishments. It makes the second page a breeze!

 Quick & Simple:
Here's another card using Sale-A-Bration products. Again, I layered the Calypso Coral cardstock and used the Vine Street Textured Embossing Folder. I am enjoying this monochromatic look! I never realized how pretty Calypso Coral really is. This card was inspired by a card I saw on Shelli Gardner's blog. Her card was simple yet cute so I thought I'd give it a try. You can see her card HERE.

Today is the last day to Register for my Occasions Card Class. In this class you will make 12 cards, 4 designs, 3 of each. These cards will consist of Birthday, Thank you, Thinking of You, etc. cards. The cost of this class is $30.00. It includes envelopes, adhesive and a special product gift from me to use on your cards and the rest is yours to take home. This class is scheduled for Saturday, March 16th, 1-4 pm.

More Christmas Scrapbooking...2012

Happy Saturday!  These are probably my favorite pages I've made during my catch-up on Christmas scrapbooking adventure. Each year I add to our family Christmas scrapbook album. I still have another year that I need to complete. I am in search of those pictures. I am beginning to think that perhaps I never printed them. Hmmm... I am now in the second album. I take so many pictures that it is hard to narrow it down. I want to document all of the moments. It's such a happy and wonderful  family time for us.

On this page I decided to add a "origami like" paper tree. It starts with a an oddly shaped half circle. I learned how to make this from my second level upline,  Gail Murray. We made a tree like this at one of her scrapbook classes. We were all so amazed seeing it come together. I am so glad I finally got to recreate it on a page.

What's Christmas, without some freshly baked cookies and a glass of milk for Santa? I surely hope Santa got to it before the milk got warm. Somehow, I just know he/she did. I just love a finished page. I feel so accomplished! Below are my last two pages for this week's catch-up.

I've seen these dividers in the catalog and even got one at last years Stampin' Up! Convention, but I never actually used it. Just didn't see its appeal. Well, I decided to give it a go and wouldn't you know, it's kind of fun to create several small segments. Once combined they work so well together and help to get more pictures and details on the pages. I still may add a few details to some of my pages but wanted to post them to finish up my Christmas Catch-Up week. I hope you enjoyed it. Stop by next week as I tackle another project.

Catching -Up on Christmas pt 3

Happy Friday! Today's post is a short one:
Here's more in my attempt to catch up on Christmas. I tried out a new layout. I wanted to place the pictures close together to give them a bolder look. I used some retired chipboard letters and numbers. As I was looking through my photos, I noticed there are none with me in them. I guess that's because I am always the one behind the lens. Go figure.

Catching Up on Christmas - MDS style

Today's scrapbooking is in MDS style (My Digital Studio) one of the awesome products created by Stampin' Up! Don't have yours yet? Try the it for free HERE. I used the Convention 2012 digital download to get the chalkboard background paper.

These boys love hanging out together and Christmas Day was no different.  I am so happy I sneaked in on them to snatch this quick photo of them together. My two boys are on either end and my nephews are in the middle.
I am still working diligently in order to catch up on my Christmas scrapbooking. These pages feature pictures from this past Christmas. We spent the day with my mother, her hubby, my siblings, and their families. I took some pics of the kids in their little break out groups. The boys can always be found together. The girls are all at different age brackets so they aren't always found together. Somehow I didn't get a picture of our littlest sweetie, Kennedy. At the time she was 8 months and in someone's arms. I'll have to be sure to include her another time.

More Catchin Up...Christmas Scrapbooking

More scrapbooking from Christmas of 2008. I have lots of Simply Scrappin' Kits that I am working my way through as I play catch-up. I think one of the most important things to remember when scrapbooking is the journaling. Putting names, dates, and ages is so important because you think you will remember everything about that special day...but really... you won't. I also try to jot down any special things that were said or done. Another scrapbooking tip...that I didn't follow this time but have on other occasions....is to jot down notes on a piece of paper and stick the paper in with your pictures as they wait to be scrapbooked. This way, even if it happens to be four years later (he-he) you will have your notes to jog your memory for journaling.

Catching Up on Christmas.....Scrapbook Style

I love scrapbooking; the feeling I get when I complete a page, but find it harder to carve out the time for it. The materials, paper thinking behind it...don't get me wrong it is definitely one of my favorite things to do in my free time. It's just that the free time doesn't come as frequently as I like. Weekends are the best, especially long weekends. I can lay everything out and get busy. If I don't have the extra time, which is quite often, then I can use MDS. It's portable and all I need is my computer. Each method has it's benefits and rewards and I wouldn't give up either!

I have been working on a Christmas scrapbook for about 7 years now. Every Christmas I add to it, or try to add to it (smile). My first year, I didn't plan ahead on our attire and it was hard to coordinate everything with everyone having on different colored pajamas. One day, I was watching The View when Rosie O'Donnell was on there and she mentioned that every year she gets matching pajamas for the family....and I thought....that's it!. So now each year we have matching pajamas and it has made quite the difference in my scrapbooking. Everything seems so coordinated now. Thank you Rosie!

Not long ago I was looking through it and realized I'd never scrapped a few years...just skipped right over them. Well, I am trying to play catch up and this week I will share my catch-up pages for scrapbooking. Today's pages are from Christmas of 2008'.

Enjoy!

MDS- The Sleepover

I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking lately so stay tuned this week for both digital scrapbooking and paper scrapbooking.  While I love the convenience, flexibility, variety, and FUN of MDS, I just can't stop my paper scrapbooking. I equally love the tangible.

A few weeks ago my little big girl turned 12! She's growing so quickly, right before my eyes. She was so excited for her party that she planned everything from the invitations to the menu to activities of the night. It was all in her hands and she and her friends had a blast. They were so well behaved. They got along well and truly enjoyed one anothers company. I sent my hubby and boys away for the night to give the girls free run of the house. Let's just say it was a late night!

Thanks for stopping by. I greatly appreciate all comments, it encourages me and let's me know someone is stopping by.

Thanks so much!

Vintage Verses Sale-A-Bration

A couple of weeks ago my sister and I got together to stamp a few cards. We love to get together but sometimes our busy lives get in the way, so I was extremely happy when the opportunity arose and we were able to make it happen. This is one that was made on that day. This was the first time I used the Manhattan Flower Folder. I think I was holding off because I wasn't sure of what to do with it. I used the Core'dinations Card Stock and did some sanding on this card. It is kind of hard to see it in this picture but the embossing edges actually do look distressed in person. You'll just have to take my word for it:-)

Anyone who really knows me, knows that brown is one of my favorite colors. I love how well it works with red. I added some satin brown ribbon ......because I just LOVE ribbon on just about everything. Very few of my cards are without ribbon. I guess it's my thing.

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
