A Christmas Post Part 2

More Christmas fun using MDS2. I decided to add on to the scrap page I posted yesterday. I created this second page by creating a mirrored image of the first page. It was super easy to create. I then searched through my Christmas stamps and embellishments and put the finishing touches on. I love the colors of these papers. I used four different sheets to create this layout. Our oldest kiddo was too busy to pose for pictures with the younger kiddos on Christmas Eve.

I hope you are enjoying this special time with family and friends. Christmas is my favorite time of year. I love decorating our house for the season. Here are some pics from this year.

A Christmas Post

Life has been pretty busy in my house but I wanted to take a moment and share a quick MDS2 page that I made of my kids on Christmas Eve. One of our traditions is to wear matching pajamas each year. The kids look forward to seeing what the design will be each year. I love how festive we all look and feel...as well as how easy, convenient, and cohesive matching pj's make the task of scrapbooking for me. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I'll try to post again before the new year.

A Butterfly Thank You

I am often needing thank you cards. Not a bad thing to need right? I am thankful for so much and try hard to let people know when I feel thankful whether is is for something physical or behavioral. I made these cards using scraps I had available from my October and November Paper Parties. I love when I can use scraps from other projects/cards and put them to good use. It makes me feel less wasteful. For these cards I used the Island Indigo In Color Card stock, along with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper. I'm not sure if you can see but I put two pearls in the center of the butterfly on each card.

Just three days until Christmas... and I still have some shopping to do. I am definitely going to finish it all today. Lots of great sales going on today. I always say next year I will be more organized and well, it is what it is. But, if I were more organized I'd miss out on the great prices...right? I do think I get a little better each year. One year I will perfect this.

I hope your Saturday is a fun and productive one. Wish me luck on mine.

Wish Big!

The countdown to Christmas is officially on. Ten more days until the big day. I usually don't start a countdown in my head until we reach the 15th of December. Why? You might ask....because today is my middle son's birthday. He turns 9 today....at 10:58 pm to be exact!  He has been counting down since mid November. He was the first one up this morning...standing by my side of the bed...6:00 am filled with excitement! We were watching him open presents at 8:00 am. Yes!!! 8:00 am! Here is the card I made for his big day. I used the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. It's a fun set full of lots of gorgeous double sided printed papers. It's very versatile. I used it for a birthday card but it would also work very nicely for a carnival scrapbook page. Super cute!

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful day...and stamp something if you can (LOL)

Happy Holidays - Our Christmas Card for 2012

Well, here it is....our holiday card. Each year I try to coordinate the kids and play photographer. They usually oblige me and smile for our 20 minute sessions. Each year it gets a bit easier to assemble them. This year was by far the easiest. Our littlest one is the one I have to work harder with in order to get something that resembles a smile. I think we did okay.

Usually I hand craft our holiday cards. This year I decided to use My Digital Studio to create with. I am so happy that I did! This photo card is my favorite absolute favorite! It is called, Postmarked for Christmas and it was super duper easy to make. I love how it turned out. Now, I just hope they get here in time. ha-ha! These cards just might not get to their destination until just after Christmas but one can hope.

Lovely as a Tree

Lovely as a Tree is a stamp set that I have admired from afar for quite some time. I love all of the images but held off on purchasing this stamp set...until now! I am so happy that I am now the proud owner of this stamp set. I had so much fun water coloring this tree. I pulled out my trusty blender pens. I am not a huge fan of water coloring but this was fun... and I like how it looks all colored in. I decided to place a rhinestone at the top of the tree. If I were to have a do over (ha-ha) I would have punched out a star to place at the top but time was not on my side when I made this card. Another add on, would be glitter. A bit of sparkle always goes well on a card.

Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: Lovely as a Tree
Ink: Gumball Green and Chocolate Chip
Card Stock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, and Snow Festival Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and Rhinestones

Two Takes on a Tag

Tags are always lots of fun to create. Here are two takes on a tag. I used all of the same products but gave them two slightly different looks. The first one on the left I made a bit wider and adhered the patterned paper at the top while the one on the right is a bit more narrow and the patterned paper is in the middle of the tag. I wrapped the patterned paper all around the tag on the right, while the tag on the left just has the patterned paper on the front. Which do you like best? These tags were inspired by tags I spotted on page 9 in the annual Stampin' Up! catalog. There is so much to see and copy in the annual catalog that everyone can be crafty!

Tag Recipe:
Stamp Set: Christmas Wishes (Holiday catalog hostess set, p. 39)
Ink: Gumball Green or Raspberry Ripple
Card Stock: Primrose Petals and Snow Festival Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Mitten Builder Punch, Gumball Green 1/4" Sweater Trim, and Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine

A Catalog Quickie: Beautiful Season

I saw this card on page 21 in Stampin' Up!'s annual Idea Book and Catalog and thought..."I can do that!" I cased this card for some of my October/November Paper Parties. The tag was lots of fun to create. It was very simple and the ladies really enjoyed using the blender pens to color in the image. Water coloring can be very therapeutic. I witnessed this as the ladies seemed very relaxed with a flowing conversation as they colored and created this card. This is such a festive card that screams "Christmas!"

Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: Beautiful Season p. 20, 122682
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Whisper White, and Polka Dot Parade dsp (page 164)
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine (page 172)

Have you started your Christmas cards? I have lots of ideas but have yet to begin my own. I am hoping to get them done within the next week. I plan to use My Digital Studio this year. I already had a photo session with my kids and now I just need to sit down with my computer and create. I am excited about what my end product will be. Of course I will share it here with you!

A Circular Christmas

Is this cute or what? I cased this from Stamp with Sandy. I thought it was the cutest thing. It was one of the favorites at Barb's Paper Party. For this card I used Early Espress, Whisper White, and Raspberry Ripple card stock. I cut 1" circles in the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper. I cut a triangle in the Silver Glimmer paper. The Whisper White card stock was embossed using the fancy fan embossing folder. This card was lots of fun to make and super easy. My two favorite words for stamping...fun and easy.

Happy December

Happy December! How did we get here so fast? I still have so much to do to be ready by the big day. I am sure it will get done. I feel this way every year and every year it all works out. This is the December page for our family calendar. It was created with My Digital Studio. The pic was taken Christmas of 2011. I love the pic of the kids at the top of the page. This was taken on Christmas Eve, just after the kids had opened one gift each. They were so excited and couldn't wait to get to bed to wake up on Christmas morn. I hope you and your family are busy making memories for this holiday season.

A Hostess Thank You!

Hello Everyone. It's been awhile but I am back with a quick post. I made todays' cards to send out to my most recent hostesses to thank them for hosting a party. They were quick and easy to make. I used the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper, the top note die and I also used the cute little In Color Dahlias. This was my first time using the Dahlias. I think they add a nice touch of texture and dimension! I adhered them using glue dots.

Card Recipe:
Stamp Set: Wacky Wishes
Ink: Raspberry Ripple or Cajun Craze
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Naturals White, Orchard Harvest dsp
Accessories: Linen Thread, In Color Dahlias

An MDS Case

It's been awhile since I've put my, My Digital Studio to good use - but here is my latest effort, which is a complete case (LOL). I cased this layout from Heather Summers who cased it from Holly Van Dyne. Pretty cute, right? I really like this layout.  I used a picture from  a fun day in September. We traveled to DC to celebrate my sister in-law's 40th birthday aboard the Odyssey. We cruised around the river, eating delicious foods, while hearing facts about several historical sights. Oh, and we danced a bit too! Loads of fun!

A Sympathy Card

I have many cards but Sympathy cards are ones that I don't have on hand. I have tons of thank you cards and birthday cards but Sympathy cards...not so much! I made this card for a neighbor of mine who recently lost her brother to cancer. This was a super easy card to make. It uses one of my favorite punches, the retired lace border punch. All other products used to create this card are current Stampin' Up! merchandise.

From 1 November through 16 December, when you join the Stampin' Up! family as a demonstrator, you will get a FREE collection of Classic Stampin' Pads for $49.95. This is a great value! Joining is only $99! This includes $125 of Stampin' Up! product of your choice and $65 in business supplies.
Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator affords you so many benefits:
  • A 20% product discount!
  • A subscription to Stampin' Up!'s exclusive demonstrator magazine!
  • Eligibility to attend Stampin' Up!'s demonstrator-only events!
  • Access to Stampin' Up!'s demonstrator community, where you can interact with
thousands of demonstrators around the world and find tens of thousands of
    project ideas!
  • A pre-order period to get your product 1-month in advance at a discount. I received my brand new Stampin' Trimmer 3 weeks ago during a special demonstrator order period and it is now available to the public.

THE NEW STAMPIN' TRIMMER IS HERE!

  • An extra-wide 6-1/4" cutting base and an extended 14-1/2" ruler
    • The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 1/4" (4 mm) increments, allowing for small measurements.
    • The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
    • The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
    • When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
    • The cutting base and track include a full ruler, incorporating measurements down to 1/16" and grid lines that mark each quarter inch.
    • All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
    • The base has nonskid feet, which keeps the Stampin' Trimmer securely in place on your work area.
  • A full 12" cutting and scoring track
    • The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.
    • The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 12" (30.5 cm) without having to remove or switch out handles.
    • The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
    • The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
  • Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts
    • The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
    • Handles come in two colors: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
    • The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you're cutting.
    • The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.
  • Storage compartment under base
    • The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades, and even business cards.
    • Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored.
  • Product details: item 126889; $29.95
  • This trimmer is just so awesome and I love it! It cuts like butter and is absolutely amazing AND you can get yours NOW!

Scensational Season

Scentsational Season Stamp set
Happy Sunday..... We have soccer today. We are hoping for a win! The boys have been playing so hard and have had very few wins. It would be great for them to walk away from this one with the high score. Positive thinking!!!

Another quick make n' take card from Ann's Christmas Card Paper Party. A mouthful, I know. I have been calling my workshops...Paper Parties. Sounds more fun...right? The last few have been Christmas themed. At Ann's Paper Party we made this card and the one from yesterday's post. For this card I used the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. Have you seen this pack? Do you have it? It have some beautiful patterns. I have been using the different prints for many of my card classes. They are the perfect size. The can be cut down to an A2 sized card or used partially on a 6 X 6 card or project. You will love all of the choices.

Open Sleigh

This card was one of my make n' takes from Ann's Christmas Card Paper Party. I used the same layout from a previous Paper Party make n' take,  but changed the color combo and the stamp. It's simple but pretty. I love the contrast of the Cherry Cobbler with the Whisper White card stock. This stocking is an adorable stamp. I just love this entire stamp set. I think it is one I will keep forever. It has lots of potential for cards and scrapbook pages. I can definitely see it in my future. Look for more projects using this one! LOL!

A Christmas Ornament Keepsake

I think this is my favorite card so far this year....more to come. This card definitely says "Christmas." It was fun to make (ha-ha - I think I always say that). I love the bright colors. I used the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and Framelit dies. It's hard to see, but I embossed the ornament with the scented Stampin' Emboss Peppermint Sticks powder. It has a really glossy look to it. This picture doesn't do it justice.

I am home again, full day, from work so I am hoping to get lots of stamping done. I have a Paper Party tomorrow. I have everything ready for it but today I will pack everything to be even more ready for tomorrow. A first for me, definitely!

Card Recipe:
Stamp set: Ornament Keepsakes (holiday mini 128048, p. 3)

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Today is our first day back to school for my me and my kids after the wrath of Hurricane Sandy. We didn't get much damage but the school district that I work in is still dealing with clean up. My work schools are closed but teachers have to report to different locations. We have 6 elementary schools and two of them don't have any power. Mine just happens to be one of them.Today we had to report by 11am.

On to Halloween:
I made these little goodies for my little ones to see when they get home from school today. Stampin Up! is selling them in the holiday mini catalog. They were so easy to make,  I made them before heading in to work this morning. I just heard that Halloween Trick or Treating is being moved to Monday, November 5. My kids won't be happy!

Hope you are enjoying your Halloween festivities!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! I promised to show the completed basket for my sister and...well, I intended to but I just got too busy to do it. It includes a journal, 4 thank you cards, 4 birthday cards, a desktop calendar, a couple of catalogs and a pen. The winner was very excited. In case you are new to my blog or haven't been here in awhile, I will recap recent events. My sister just donated a kidney to a good friend of hers. The transplant happened this past Monday. Both she and her friend are recuperating in the hospital. My sister is progressing nicely. She has pain as was to be expected but is getting better everyday. I am hoping she is released today. Her friend had a complication but is on the mend now. Please pray for him that his body accepts it and uses it as needed. We are so proud of my sister and happy that things are going well. Please pray for both...it's been a busy week...and will be a busy weekend!

A One Horse Open Sleigh

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was filled with soccer games for our young sons and some much needed relaxing.

I just love quick and easy cards and today's card is no different. Super super easy to make, just the way I like it. This was the last of the cards we made at Tina's Christmas card paper party. This card uses the Open Sleigh stamp set (126460), page 12, which just might be my favorite Christmas stamp set. I love, love, love the sleigh. It inks up nicely and has the BEST image. It also comes with a striped stocking. I can't wait to tamp a card with it. Stay tuned, that will be coming soon.

A Christmas Card: Rejoicing with You

I'm still in a Holiday state of mind! This is another card from my last Paper Party. For this one I used the Rejoicing with You (126300), page 21,  stamp set. I love the crackled look of the angel image. I stamped it in crumb cake ink and stamped the verse in Cherry Cobbler ink. I added a little flower button with some baker's twine. I  layered the button over a punched flower.

I am having lots of fun playing with all of my new Christmas stamps. I am trying to find the right color combination/layout for this year's Christmas card so that means lots more playing for me.

Come to Bethlehem

We are just a little over two months away from Christmas!!! Can you believe it? I can't. It feels like just last week my kids and I were spending our days at the pool.

Last week I did my first Christmas Paper Party for the 2012 holiday season. The hostess wanted a Christmas theme so I got busy thinking and planning. This is the first of the cards she and her guests made. It uses the Come to Bethlehem (118732), page 20. This layout came straight from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog on page 12. The card in the catalog used a different stamp set and oriented the card differently but I pretty much copied everything else. (ha ha) If I were to make more of this particular card I think I would tie the linen thread into a bow. Live and learn. I pre cut the borders to help keep the class moving and it worked. We made this card along with two others and we were done in less than 1- 1/2 hours.

Card recipe:
Stamp set: Come to Bethlehem
Card stock: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Rhinestones, Linen Thread

Have you started your Christmas cards yet? Live in the Philly/Delaware/New Jersey area? I can help you get started and even plan a Paper Party for you.

A Happy Birthday Card

Here's another card for the basket that I worked so hard on. Each of the card sets consisted of four cards of the same design. Again, I used the Floral District designer series paper. I decided to be consistent and use the same pattern for both sets of cards as well as the journal.
I love how well the baja blue card stock works well with so many other colors. This was a fun set to create...now I just want one for me.

An Easy Thank You Using The Floral District

I've been sharing the different items from the basket I put together for last weekend's fundraiser event. Well, here's another one.  These were quick and easy to make. I layered whisper white card stock onto Whisper White. I used the Fancy Fan folder textured impressions embossing folder on the top layer. I love what it added to the look of the card.I used a strip of the Floral District designer series paper and some pretty Baja Blue seam binding ribbon. I think the seam binding ribbon is my favorite of all the ribbon. It has an elegant look to it and steps up any card.

Floral District Journal

Over the weekend I attended a fundraiser for my sister who is donating a kidney to a special friend of hers. She will be out of work for a few weeks and the fundraiser was set up to help her out financially during the time she will be out of work. In honor of the event, I was asked to create a basket for the raffle. I just happened to have one last chip board journal that Stampin' Up! use to sell so I decided to cover it with some of the pretty Floral District designer series paper (126919). I found the retired tag, amongst my stash, stamped a few images on it and used dimensionals to adhere it to the journal. I placed a couple of rhinestones on each of the butterflies for some sparkle. In addition, I also used twine and a linen colored button. I was so happy with it that I wanted to keep it for myself...but I didn't. I placed it along with a few other goodies into a basket for a good cause. Creating this journal was super easy to make. What do you think? I'll share a pic of the complete basket after sharing each of the contents with you.

Pink Baby Prints

Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! We spent ours at multiple soccer games for our boys. Always fun watching them at their games. Today's card was made for one of my colleagues. She is expecting her first child...a girl! Brings back memories of my first, such an exciting time filled with hopes and dreams and lots of the unknown. You think you know what life will be like with a new baby, but you really have NO idea until it happens. It's hard work but we wouldn't change a moment of it. I think it's really when we find out what love really is. A little life that you would do anything for. An AMAZING journey!

I had lots of fun making this card. I like it so much, I wish I'd made two like I usually do, but I had lots of projects I needed to get done this weekend. I'll be sharing more of them this week, so remember to check back. I used the Baby Prints stamp set (125470), Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (126255), Chevron Embossing Folder (127749), 2-1/2" Circle Punch (120906), and 3" Circle Originals Die (122125), and the Bitty Banners Framelits (129267). In addition, I used Regal Rose card stock and marker, Soft Suede card stock and marker, Versamark, and white embossing powder.

I hope you enjoy your Monday. My kids and hubby are off today for Columbus day. Me, I've got work today. The weather is a bit cooler here today which makes me a bit happy because I get to pull out my tall boots. I love wearing my boots with a dress; a carefree look! So.... I am a happy girl as I head off to work. I hope you have a wonderful day full of discovery....or in Christopher Columbus' fashion...re-discovery. LOL!

Festive Paper!

I am loving the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (126904). The pages are super cute. They measure at just 4-1/2 x 6-1/2. I can make a card using just one of the sheets along with some cardstock for layering. I took one sheet and cut it at 5-1/2 x 1-3/4" They are double-sided and if you take one sheet, cut it and flip one side over, it matches the back of itself perfectly (hope you understood that one. it was a bit tricky) I also used ....ribbon...I am sure you guessed that! This ribbon is the cherry cobbler seam binding, along with a vintage brad. Gotta loves them!

Have you used these beautiful pages? Leave me a comment with a link to your project using the Festival of Prints Designer Series paper pack. Look for more to come.

The Ornament Card

Last week, I learned how to make the beautiful ornament on the cover of the new holiday mini and it is gorgeous!!! I can definitely see myself making a few more of these. Lots of fun! I made it at a class held by the talented Gail Murray. I decided to recreate the ornament (just one) and add it to a card. I got lots of practice making these 3D bulbss. The ornament calls for 5 of them...so making just one was super easy. I guess I won't be able to mail this (he-he). This will definitely be a hand delivered one!

For this card I used crumb cake and very vanilla cardstock, gumball green and cherry cobbler classic ink along with a sheet of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper stack 126904. You get lots of 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 sheets (48 to be exact). They are all stunning! I added some very vanilla seam binding ribbon, linen thread, a random brad and rhinestones. The rhinestones were strategically placed to cover up an oops. Can you see my little oops? Hope not. LOL!

A Scrapbooking Kind of a Day

Happy Sunday! I had an awesome day yesterday. I spent the day as a vendor at an all day crop at Aldine United Methodist Church in Elmer, NJ.  The crop was to benefit and support an organization called, New Hope Counseling.

Marie, Nancy, and Barb

I met the nicest group of women there. During the crop I sold LOTS of retired stamp sets and paper. I also did a couple of quick scrapbook sessions. I took this picture of my second group. This was the highlight of the day. I love sharing scrapbooking and card making with fellow crafters. The ladies made a scrapbook page using More Mustard and Soft Suede card stock, a few pages from the 2012-2014 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack, linen thread, and a variety retired buttons and brads. We also used the scallop edge punch and the petite pennants builder punch. I stamped "party" on my sample but the layout is versatile and can be used for any theme. The ladies will decide on their theme later. I want to thank all of the ladies for a wonderful day!

A Stippled Happy Birthday!

A quick post:

At Convention, I saw the cutest card using this stamp set. It's called, Stippled Blossoms, and knew I just had to have it. Last night I finally got the chance to try it out. Since going back to work I am finding less and less time to stamp. I have to find a better way to manage my time.  Using this stamp set has been on my mind for awhile. It's a two step stamp set. To get the two different colors, I inked my stamp, then stamped off before stamping the image where I wanted it. I just love the two step stamp sets and all that they add to the art of stamping. I also used rhinestones, vintage brads and linen seam binding ribbon.

Today we are heading to my sister in-law's 40th birthday party. This quick card will accompany the gift.

I love taking their pictures on their first day back to school along with just about every other important day in their lives. These pages were lots of fun to make. I used the Back To School Ensemble download. It has so many cute elements. Do you have this download? If not, you can check it out at the link below:
